Exercise during pregnancy helps to prevent excessive weight gain and improve sleeping patterns. It helps to prepare the mother to hold and carry her own growing child while improving appearance and posture. Regular movement can help promote circulation and stimulate the digestive processes which helps prevent hemorrhoids, constipation, varicose veins, leg cramps and swelling in the ankles. Finally an exercise program can help alleviate some of the discomforts of pregnancy especially low back pain and strengthen the muscles needed for labor and delivery, which can ease delivery and reduce labor time!
