After 16 years in the Health & Fitness service industry, Barb and Bryce couldn't be happier! It has been an adventurous journey for them with lots of obstacles along the way and they have made it through it all! They are dedicated to their clients and their business because it is what makes them happy; it is their passion to service the community in their health & fitness goals.
One of our long-term, "OG" clients, Randy Blanq, wrote a touching email (see below) to Barb and Bryce and they thought it was so wonderful that we wanted to share it with everyone. It filled their hearts to hear such kind words. It was a beautiful reaffirmation that this is why they do what they do. So, a special thank you to Randy and a huge thank you to ALL of the amazing Beach Fitness clients - OG and new! Thank you for being a part of our Beach Fitness family. Bryce and Barb wouldn't be here if it weren't for all of you<3
Happy 16th Anniversary Beach Fitness!!!!
I want to wish you guys a happy 16tanniversary. I have been fortunate enough to be around for 12 of those years. I often tell people that I used to be a favorite customer of 24 Hr Fitness or Family Fitness. I would get my $19/mth intro offer on autopay, go a few times and then stop. All the while, they would keep collecting my money. I was great for their passive income. But, in 2010, I was introduced to Beach Fitness. While I cannot come 5-6 days a week like some others, but 12 years is obviously the most loyal I have been to a gym and getting there 2-3 times a week is the most consistent I have ever been with my gym workouts. I attribute that to the small community feel. There are no showers and steam rooms, but there is a fitness family. There are innumerable places that put out the same product, but this family is my family and I am happy to be a part of it.
Additionally, when I wanted to do my charity workout at your gym several years back, you were very supportive. It meant a lot. You guys have built something that is an important part of the fabric of Seal Beach and you offer something that can change the paradigm of people’s lives for the better.
Over the years, I have had a front row seat to the evolution of the gym. I have seen the various trainers pass through. I watched CrossFit come and go. I have seen the addition of the wellness suite with a variety of wellness practitioners. I have seen the addition of ELDOA and how successful, anecdotally, it has been. I say anecdotal because I don’t know the numbers, but I do know how frequently we get booted from the Group Fitness room on Sundays. And I have seen Bryce in distant airports after having taught a class.
All this is to say that you guys don’t get caught watching the paint dry. You offer the foundational services that you need to as a gym, but you are continuously seeking out new services and health/wellness modalities that you might be able to incorporate into your business. All this is done without losing touch with your community: I saw somebody this morning partaking of a cup of coffee from your treat table who I am relatively certain is not a gym member. You have previously supported Barbells for Boobs and now support the children of LAEF. You seem to have a pretty good grasp that you can offer all the fancy classes, training and alternative wellness modalities in the world, but it is the people that you serve that make you a continuing success. Make them feel welcome and at home and they will keep coming.
I applaud you and thank you. Keep up the good work!!
